DM API

What is API used for?

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a set of functions that allows applications to access data and interact with external software components, operating systems, or microservices. To simplify, an API delivers a user response to a system and sends the system's response back to a user.

API is the acronym for Application Programming Interface, which is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. Each time you use an app like Facebook, send an instant message, or check the weather on your phone, you're using an API.

There are four principal types of API commonly used in web-based applications: public, partner, private and composite. In this context, the API "type" indicates the intended scope of use. Public APIs. A public API is open and available for use by any outside developer or business

The process of online gathering and measuring information on variables, in an established systematic fashion that enables one to answer stated research questions and evaluate outcomes using API is API Data Collection.

Small text files that the web browser stores on the computer (either in the browser folder itself or under the program data). The first time you visit a page on the internet, a new cookie is created, which collects the information that can be accessed by the website operator.Cookies are created to identify you when you visit a new website.

The web server — which stores the website's data — sends a short stream of identifying info to your web browser. Browser cookies are identified and read by “name-value” pairs. These tell cookies where to be sent and what data to recall. cookies can store log-in details, bookmarks, credit card details and preferred settings and themes - resulting in a faster and smoother web journey. Because persistent cookies can log your uniquely identifiable movements online over a long period, they are sometimes called tracking cookies
